The 24¢ stamp was prepared for the airmail
service between Washington, New York and Philadelphia, to begin on May 15,
1918.
The First, Second and Third Printings of the
24¢ “Jenny” produced a total of 2,198,600 stamps, of which 2,134,988 were
distributed. Out of all of these stamps, only 100 Inverted “Jenny” errors were
sold.
